Insomnia and sleep Tips when you have Fibro

*If you have serious sleep issues, please see your doctor! There are very real dangers if you have sleep apnea, please ask your doctor about this!*

I take Benadryl Night tabs and 3 Magnesium Citrate every night and sleep like a rock!

Here’s some more from some of you:
~Magnesium Malate
~Melatonin (make sure to use the pill-swallowing kind, not the one that dissolves under you tongue- that one has mint)
~Turn off all your devices an hour before bed so your eyes aren’t being hit by that bright light before bed. At the very least, turn down the back light on any device you use in the evening.
~hormone treatment for menopause
~doctor prescribed meds.

Do not cheat on the HG diet, I wake up alot from that. Having a high-protein, high fat snack before bed totally helps with that. 🙂 So does having a high protein snack by the bed if you wake up in the middle of the night, grab that snack and munch it down before you give up and get out of bed! You never know, you might just fall right back to sleep! 🙂

Seasonal Affective Disorder. Another thing I do is to always wake at the same time and go to bed at the same time. I schedule my Benadryl so I am in bed by 11 and up by 8am. Although lately I am needing less sleep! awesome I know!! I used to use a sun lamp every morning religiously for at least an hour first thing in the morning. Now I go outside and face the sun for an hour 🙂

Do NOT nap during the day! That throws me right off and I’m up till all hours of the night! Our bodies work best on a rhythm, a schedule.

RLS can also be a cause for waking during the night, take a swig of Dill Pickle juice to help with that!

Ok, your turn! What do you do?
