Massage Therapy for folks with Fibromyalgia

A good friend of mine Victoria Mauck just explained this so perfectly, I had to share it with you in the hopes that even MORE people with Fibromyalgia would see this and understand better what goes on with massage. 🙂

“I feel it’s really important that PTs and massage therapists NOT try to work out the things (phosphate deposits) they feel on us. They should just gently stretch the tight muscles! What they don’t understand is that they aren’t working on normal tight muscles and knots. When they press so hard on our lesions, it’s as if they are trying to dig into an open sore! The deposits won’t go away by digging into them. That kind of treatment will only make the area worse; the trauma of irritating the deposits can actually cause it to accumulate MORE phosphates. Trauma causes deposits and on us, deep massage is trauma. That’s why we hurt for so long afterwards. That’s the painful rebound effect. It may cause numbness at first as the area goes into shock, but there will be a painful consequence for most of us as the feeling comes back!” ~Victoria

So, THAT’S why I’ve always hated massage therapy!! I remember one time a friend massaged the huge ‘knots’ in shoulders for hours and I literally couldn’t stand up afterwards, now I know he was massaging the lumps of phosphates back into my blood stream!

The Guaifenesin Protocol is really the only thing that will reverse your fibromyalgia deposits and give you your life back!

All that said, be careful with massage therapy, it can do more harm than good if they are trying to massage away phosphate deposits on a person with fibromyalgia!!
