FAQ: Are Salicylates in Cleaning Products, Laundry, Dish Soap?

Yes! You do need to look for salicylates in your laundry soap, dish soap and other cleaning products.

Some of your cleaning products will have Salicylates in them, no worries, just get some good gloves 🙂 And as I was reminded today, if they DO put any natural ingredients in them, they advertise it all over the bottle, as that is a selling feature now a days 😛

They are full of chemicals, so you really should be wearing gloves anyways!

No need to worry about laundry soap or dishwasher soap, unless you are using it on your skin. There is not enough soap left on your clothes or dishes to block after a regular wash and rinse cycle. BUT! If you overdo your laundry soap (not a good idea for the washer!), so that there’s lots of soap left on your clothes, you can block from this too, so it’s all around safer to just stick to sal-safe Laundry soap 🙂

Gloves ARE needed for washing dishes by hand, or else make sure you buy the sal safe soap. There are several sal-safe options you can get now. Check out Kimberly’s Pinterest Boards for help.

You can Make your own cleaning products too! Cheaper and actually works better!
