No worries on food prep with normal food amounts!
If you are doing bushel fulls of canning or something then YES! Wear gloves, but normal food amounts are fine!
Check out my post on Juicing and Salicylates too 🙂
I am on the Hypoglycemia/ Carb Intolerat diet and eat and prepare and cut copious amounts of veggies and fruits, and do not block 🙂
When things are on your skin, they go straight to your blood stream, when you swallow things, they get digested and don’t block (other than concentrated plant ingredients, herbal remedies, etc. see quick check)
I can get dried herbs on me no prob and it won’t block, but when you rub some basil OIL GEL OR EXTRACT on my skin it will block. I wouldn’t use steeped tea in any of my lotions etc, as that will block too! They often put MORE concentrated stuff in teas to make them taste strong, AND alot of the teas are much higher in salicylates than other herbs.
Basically, you need to be sal-safe not sal-free. It’s not possible to be sal free actually 😛 And they have found from thousands of patients what will block and what won’t. From their experience, preparing food in normal food amounts won’t block your guaifenesin from working to reverse your fibromyalgia symptoms 🙂
