Dr St Amand is the one who came up with the whole protocol and discovered the use of Guaifenesin for fibromyalgia. He is the expert on this and he says to use the Long Acting/ Extended Release, NOT the Fast Acting for reversal. FA is a complimentary guaifenesin that can be used to speed things along, after the clearing dose is established. It will hit your system hard, and will wane before your 4 hours even is up, so clearing is not consistent! You will clear for a couple hours, then re-deposit again before your next dose kicks in, so your symptoms LOOK like clearing because your symptoms are so intense and up and down.

I know in RARE instances where there are NO other options the FA has been used, but as soon as humanly possible, they are switched to the LA.
