Depression and fibromyalgia

On top of feeling yucky, depression is actually a symptom of fibromyalgia. It’s just SO unfair, I know! However, it will cycle and clear as time goes on with the guaifenesin protocol, so don’t give up!

Try to find just ONE thing that you love to do and do it everyday, even if just for a couple minutes. It gives you something to look forward to and plan around. I get a tan for 6 minutes every day during the winter months. It gets me out of the house and I usually have a little energy to do one more errand on my way home 🙂 (this post was written in 2013, I know have energy for more than 1 errand yay!)

Also, a great way to get through each day when it gets depressing is to set REASONABLE goals for yourself. 3 things a day. Even if all it is is brushing your teeth, showering and making your bed, at least you can look back and see you’ve accomplished something!! I was told that is what counselors suggest for people struggling through depression. It really does help! (Check out my post on Cleaning with Fibromyalgia/CFS)

It’s SO hard to feel worse on the guaifenesin protocol and not know what to do with yourself. You have been used to doing at least the little you COULD do. Now you have this HOPE and desire to be well again and all these plans and ideas in your head for when you are well again. Patience is KEY. (check out my post on Living with Fibromyalgia/CFS)

God WILL bring purpose and something for you to do, when you have the energy to do it!! Rest, take care of yourself, and get better! One thing at at time here. Right now, your body is working full time trying to get well. Help out your body by resting and moving a little, gentle stretches, you don’t even need to move off the couch! Just stretch like a cat! 😀

YOU CAN DO THIS!! Don’t give up, take it one day at a time and use the time to talk to God! Pray, meditate on truth from God’s Word, it will sustain you and fill you with joy <3
